Scholarships Available for Douglass Students

Through the generosity of generations of Douglass alumnae, the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College is able to offer significant scholarship support to incoming and returning Douglass students.

Scholarships for the 2025/26 academic year are available now. Recipients are selected on an on-going basis until all available funding has been awarded. To be considered, current and incoming Douglass students must submit an online application. This common application allows the applicant to be considered for any of the scholarships for which they are eligible.

When should I apply for an AADC Scholarship?

As soon as possible in order to be considered for as many scholarships as possible. Scholarships are awarded on an ongoing basis until all available funds have been given.

How much is the amount of the scholarship award?
Scholarship awards vary, from a few hundred dollars to several thousand. Recipients report that every award amount is a help toward achieving their educational goals.
How long does the application take to fill out?

The application should take approximately 30 to 60 minutes to complete.

Do you have any tips on how to fill out the application?

Much of the application has multiple choice answers or “drop down” selections. Just answer with the choices that most closely match your situation. In some cases, more than one answer can be selected. In addition, there is an area to share your co-curricular and service involvements and space for a personal statement. Honestly share your unique background and goals in these sections. There are no right or wrong answers.

Are the awards made based on financial need or academic merit?

The Associate Alumnae of Douglass College offers a number of scholarships. Some are based on merit. Some are based on need. Some are based on both. Some have other criteria – it depends on what the donor who established the scholarship choose to do. Therefore, it is worth the minimal amount of time you’ll put into completing the application as your personal circumstance might be a match to the variety of criteria.

When will I know if I receive a scholarship?

You will be notified by email within two to three weeks of applying. You will be asked to accept the scholarship and to share information so the award can be applied to your term bill.

Just what is the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College?

The AADC is an independent, self-supporting 501(c)(3) organization. It is separate from and independent of Rutgers, The State University of N.J., the Rutgers University Foundation, and Douglass Residential College.
The AADC develops and promotes connections among graduates of Douglass Residential College, (previously known as Douglass College and the New Jersey College for Women). We provide programs, services, networks and lifelong learning opportunities that represent the interests and needs of our diverse alumnae.â€ŊWe also provide stewardship of theâ€ŊDouglass Fund and other endowed fundsâ€Ŋheld by the AADC for the benefit of Douglass; distributions from these funds contribute financial support to Douglass and provide scholarships for her students.
