AADC Black Alumnae Network Virtual Black History Month Program
Facilitated Discussion of the film, The Six Triple Eight
Black Alumnae Network (BAN) President Catherine Sackey ’22, Vice President Bertha Lee Aiken ’81 and Secretary Tiffany Toliver ’04, invite all alumnae and friends to our virtual program honoring Black History Month.
Join us for a meaningful discussion centered on The Six Triple Eight, the powerful film honoring the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. The only all-Black, all-women unit deployed overseas during World War II. This facilitated discussion will explore the historical significance of the film, the intersecting themes of race, gender, patriotism and resilience, and the lasting impact of their service despite systemic barriers and erasure.
Participants will engage in guided conversation with a moderator, with space for reflection, shared insights, and open dialogue throughout the program. Please watch the film in advance of our discussion.
Film Viewing Options:
